The Perfect Storm; the Perfect Marriage.

Bridging Differences and Developing a Culture of Engagement in our

Multi-Generational Teams.

Leading multi-generational teams and managing the complexities of generational differences in values, expectations, and behaviors is one of the most important challenges facing leaders today.  How do we unite younger workers and more seasoned staff to capitalize on their mutual contributions, and maintain high levels of employee satisfaction and engagement while reaching our organizational mandate?  In this interactive session, develop a better understanding for working with the generations and through a project management lens, explore how to bridge differences and develop an action plan for an engaged workforce.

Dr. Carolin Rekar Munro, CHRP, CTDP, is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Management at Royal Roads University serving as intellectual lead for Leadership and Human Resources. Carolin has held senior HR positions in the private and public sectors accountable for strategic planning and implementation; organizational renewal; performance management, labour relations, including collective bargaining; compensation restructuring; enhancing staff engagement and wellness; succession planning; and championing initiatives to enhance multi-generational collaborations.

As a strong community advocate, Carolin is actively involved in the Human Resources Professionals Association of BC and Ontario, the Canadian Society for Training and Development, Leadership Victoria, the Human Resources Association’s Educational Standards and Accreditation Committee, and the Social Action Committee on Homelessness.

Carolin is published in developing and sustaining high performance teams; ROI from learning and development initiatives; leadership models for transitioning teams from dependence to interdependence; best practices in teaching and learning; wellness management of HR practitioners; transitioning to e-learning environments; and mentoring needs and expectations of Generation-Y HR practitioners.
